Film

Floyd is a renowned film maker and has worked on multiple dance and music projects. As well as filmmaking, Floyd has had a continuous active involvement in annual events associated with Stopgap, such as “Farnham in Bloom”, the Winter Platform and supporting one of Stopgap’s Youth Company classes “Stepping Stones”.

Floyd produced a film of the dance and this was shown at The Lightbox in Woking in September 2022. Floyd made two films, one which is the art film and another which is the Behind the Scenes documentary which captures the ethos of our creative and connected community. 

"The Earth Is Alive" by Floyd C Konde is an art film that showcases dance, community and nature. Choregraphed by Award Winning Artistic Director Emma Brewer and music led by Liz Ikamba and composed by Jim Pinchen, this dance set in nature draws the viewer in to feel and see the movement and fludity of dance. This dance features The Vision Project Company Dancers formed by many who are part of First Dance Studios performance group. 

The Vision Project - the documentary is a behind the scenes look at how this film came about. It features interviews with several participants that reveal details about their reasons for participation and how the community and creative aspects allowed them to connect to themselves and each other. This video is approx. 20 mins long.
