The A-Z Challenge 2021
During the pandemic of 2020, many of us struggling to cope given that our lives had changed and routines up-ended. In the forth lockdown of January 2021 we were all in need of some positivity.
The creative genius that is Emma Brewer came up with an amazing 8-week creative challenge which ran from January to March 2021.
We were set fun challenges using the alphabet – each letter from A to Z was a different creative theme.
Each week a group of over 60 people got creative and did three challenges. From Bakes that would make Paul Hollywood & Prue Leith gasp to paint jobs that reaching abstract artistic heights, we found our inner muse and came up with the goods.
Emma even won the Bayfields Community Champion Award for getting us all creative and connecting together!

When Bayfields Opticians put out a call to discover a local community champion, many of us immediately submitted Emma Brewer. The seemingly never ending lockdowns and especially the 3rd or 4th one in January 2021 was dark for us all. When Emma proposed this creative challenge to keep us mentally focused, active and together many of us felt a purpose that we had been lacking for a long time. Knowing how community, creation and connection is an important part for all of us Emma saw how much we enjoyed and got out of the challenges. We were awarded points for each entry and then at the end in March 2021 we had an awards evening online. For many of us it was a change to discover new talents and skills, pick up neglected ones including instruments and for some a way of simply being connected and less isolated.

Get to know who is part of The Vision Project
Emma Brewer
Founder
Emma is an Award Winning Artistic Director and founder of The Vision Project as well as First Dance Studios and First Dances Ltd. With over two decades of dance and creative expression experience, Emma has wowed audiences all around the world with her choregraphy.
She delights in providing a safe haven for artists and creatives and watching how communities grow in support of each other through art in any format.
Corrina McDermott
Counsellor
Corrie is an experienced counsellor working with clients to increase resilience, cope with loss and deal with change. Her aim is to listen without judgement and give you the space and time to untangle the many emotions that you might be feeling.
Corrie's work on our workshops has been invaluable as she has provided a safe contact and connection for when we have felt overwhelming feelings.
Jo Alam
Art Therapist
Jo Alam runs Cup of JoJo where she focuses on bringing freedom through art in her workshops. She is a therapeutic arts counselor and guides her participants to let go and simply create. Through using media such as watercolour or clay Jo uses colour and texture to bring out the inner child in all of us.
Jo also exhibits her art and runs guided art retreats in France. For further information please contact us.
Hannah Bruce
Artist
Hannah is an Award winning local artist and she has been creating art in a range of media including primarily oils, resin, ink and pastels.
With a background in teaching and fine art Hannah loves to work outdoors focusing on natural elements and light which brings depth to her art.
Her workshops provide participants with new techniques and artistic ideas.
Floyd C Konde
Film Maker
Floyd is an experienced film maker working on films as art as well as education. He has worked with various dance companies and vividly captures movement and form and bringing it to life in his art films.
Liz Ikamba
Singer/Song writer
Liz is a singer-songwriter and visual artist inspired by the cross-pollination of cultures, styles and artistic forms. These interests are reflected in her multi-disciplinary practice as a musician, facilitator and projects curator, and her involvement in Community Arts, Education and Well Being for over 10 years.

Diana-Louise Towe
Dancer
Diana-Louise Towe is a Surrey based dancer and has been in several music videos as well as being a x7 times World Tap Champion.
She has recently been part of a dance troupe featured on the BBC Iplayer about Dance.
Diana is also a dance teacher, teaching ballet, contemporary and street/commercial dance at First Dance Studios.
Dan Watson
Dancer
Dan Watson is a London based artist and has worked for several wide-ranging companies and individuals including Gecko Theatre, Wendy Houstoun, Nigel Charnock, Stan Wont Dance, Slung Low Theatre, The Royal Opera House, Vincent Dance Theatre, Hofesh Shechter, Gary Clarke, Seven Sisters Group, 5 Men Dancing and Freddie Opoku-Addaie amongst others. In 2012 he was the Choreographic Assistant on the Universal/Working Title movie of the musical "Les Miserables".
Lorraine Ansell

Lorraine has over 20 years experience in working in creative content with a special focus on community connection. She has worked for L'Oreal, Yves Saint Laurent, Amnesty International among others.
She enjoys taking conceptual brands and making them real and accessible and attractive to the key target audiences. A full content creation agency in one small person.
